La Pradera
Sonora In ”green”
At the onset of Covid, the Mexican government established a color system to indicate the level of restrictions placed on the communities and limitations on businesses. Using a stoplight-like reference, the levels have moved between red, orange, yellow, and green. Because Sonora is now in “green”, business has picked up and Carnísimo Burgers can resume renting out the back patio (“La Pradera”) for parties and larger gatherings. Jonathan Aupperle, manager of the restaurant says “Being able to rent the patio for parties allows us to have more interaction with our clients. We get to know them better as they plan their party.”
Bomba promotion
In early March, Carnísimo Burgers had a promotion for “Bombas”, the jalepeno and cheese smoked sausage. The grill was set up in the back patio, Andy and Frankie grilled sausages and “Bomba” sandwiches were served.
Wedding reception
The community came together to celebrate the wedding of one of Carnísimo Burgers’ employees, Franky and his wife Jaqueline. It was a blessed occasion to witness their commitment to each other. In celebration of their marriage, many of their family, friends, and co-workers gathered at La Pradera for their reception.
Ranch business
Andy and Rancho Agua Viva employee Fernando spent a day at the rented ranch in the mountains working the cows and checking the cows for pregnancy rates.
Praise and prayer
LOVE - Praise God for healthy relationships. Pray that God's love is displayed through employee, co-worker and customer interactions in informal and business settings.
JOY - Praise God for the joy that comes from job satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Pray that the true Joy in Christ is felt in the hearts of the employees and customers.
PEACE - Praise God that the Business Discipleship and Youth Training Coordinator positions have been approved. Pray for peace in the hearts of individuals seeking clarity and direction as they pray about these roles with The Fatted Calf.
Nurturing the Faith at Work
In addition to formal gatherings such as bible studies and church and small group get-togethers in Magdalena, the faith of new believers is nurtured through daily interactions in the work-place. PCLM employees seeking the Will of God take advantage of the opportunities to engage in conversations about the bible with missionaries and believing co-workers. The consistent daily involvement in the lives of the employees is important as they are mentored in their job training and careers and discipled in their spiritual growth.
