New Year, New Opportunities

Carnísimo Burgers

In the beginning of January, Carnísimo Burgers expanded their hours and has added eggs and chorizo to the toppings selection to make breakfast sandwiches. Also, a freezer has been placed in the dining area to promote sales of products that are made at at Carnísimo. The exposure of these products to the public has given a boost to sales of ground beef, chorizo, jalepeno & cheese smoked sausages, and meat for steak tacos.

Rancho Agua Viva

The Ranch has bulls and bred cows on the rented ranch in the mountains.

Soon to calve are the replacement heifers, kept under close watch at CVE. Bull sales of 2-yr olds have begun and one baby calf is on the ground!

Carnísimo

Carnísimo has re-introduced beef jerky and meat sticks and is in the test marketing stage. These products are on display for sale at Carnísimo Burgers.

Through the years, Casa Vida y Esperanza has taken advantage of using the services of Carnísimo to help with animal harvest and meat cutting and packaging for their use at the children’s home. Once again, the production room was busy with personnel from Carnísimo and CVE working together!

The Fatted Calf Scholarship Program

In January, the scholarship committee met to discuss eligibility of future scholars and met with a potential applicant.

The Fatted Calf Scholarship program is designed to help current and former residents of Casa Vida y Esperanza with post-secondary education expenses. As graduates apply for college in Mexico and prepare for their financial needs, Colegio de Verdad y Vida (the school on the campus of CVE), work alongside The Fatted Calf to offer the option of The Fatted Calf’s Scholarship. The Scholarship Committee members are Geo Grassi, Todd Stoller and Ann Wulf.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
— Isaiah 43:19

the gospel

There are new staff, new responsibilities, new baby calves, new meat products, new menu items, and new scholars in the new year 2021. Beyond the “earthly” matters of the ministry of The Fatted Calf, is the more important newness that Christ makes possible. God will do a new thing and it shall spring forth and we shall know it. He will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers, the water of life, in the desert.

God is working in the hearts and souls of those that are touched by the ministries and missionaries serving in Magdalena, MX. The staff of The Fatted Calf is blessed to walk side by side with the staff of Casa Vida y Esperanza to strengthen the Church in Magdalena. Please pray for the Church, for the believers in leadership and supporting roles and for all who are blessed by the Christian fellowship.

May God be Glorified!
